Sarah Margaret Hennessey, daughter of Rebecca and Michael Hennessey of Machias, was the first baby born at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in 2012. Sarah was born at 8:21 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, weighing 8 pounds 10.6 oz and measuring 20.5 inches. Sarah received a loving welcome from her big brother and sister, Ben and Lily.

Goodall Hospital is pleased to introduce the first baby of 2012 born in Sanford, Maine. Ryleigh Chase Easley arrived at 1:25 pm on Sunday, January 1, weighing in at 6 pounds, 4 ounces and measuring 20 inches. Ryleigh’s mom, Danyel Easley, lives in Sanford. Her grandparents, Roger Easley and Robin Lacasse, both reside in North Berwick.

Stephens Memorial Hospital (Norway) is pleased to announce the arrival of the first baby born in 2012, Caehyl Alexys. Cassandra Mann went into labor during the early hours of January 1st just one day before her due date of January 2nd. In just over two hours Caehyl was born at 5:27AM weighing 8 lbs and 12 ounces and measuring 21 inches in length. Caehyl may have been one day early but her timing was perfect, earning her the title of the first baby born at Stephens Memorial Hospital in 2012.

Nurse midwife Susan Jacoby of Franklin Health Women’s Care attended the birth of Drake Douglas Frederick, a 7 pound 6 ounce baby boy who was born at 12:40 p.m. on January 1. Drakes’s parents are Whitney Nichols and Gary Frederick of Kingfield and he is the couple’s first child.

A New Year’s baby arrives at Down East Community Hospital. Crissy Palmeter and Robert Kenney are the proud parents of Bryce Kenney. Their handsome son was born at Down East Community on January 4 at 4:11 a.m. and weighed in at 6 pounds13 ounces. Bryce is the first grandchild of Troy Palmeter and Cindy Davis. Crissy said that the whole experience has seemed quite surreal, but when she looks at Bryce she can already see how much he looks like his Dad.
The first baby born at Bridgton Hospital in 2012 is Lucia Rose Riane, daughter of Megan M. Mesina and Kevin P. Riane of Bridgton. Lucia Rose was born on Friday, Jan. 6. According to her mother, “We will call her LuLu, a name our youngest daughter suggested!” Lucia Rose joins her siblings, Journey Brooke Riane, 2, Tez Mariah Cole, 16, Corey Riane, 21, Danielle Riane, 22. Maternal Grandparents are Peggy Mose and Jeri Norten, Salisbury MA. Paternal Grandparents are Margaret Riane and the late Robert Riane, Billerica MA. Great Grandparent is Margaret Glavin, Melrose, MA
YORK COUNTY, MAINE –Merrill Farrand, DO, delivered the first of nearly 600 children that will be born at SMMC in the year 2012. Mike Randall and Christina Harding of Sanford welcomed the 7lb. 2oz. girl in the warmth and comfort of SMMC's beautiful Birthing Suite, and Aaliyah earned the distinction of being SMMC's New Year baby.
