SCARBOROUGH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A wheelchair belonging to a Scarborough teenager has been recovered according to police.
The person who took the wheelchair told Scarborough Police, she thought it had been abandoned and had taken it to Goodwill. The wheelchair is now at the police station and they are making plans to return it to the family.
We reported on Tuesday, Chris Fitzgerald relies on the wheelchair for many things, including the trek from the bus stop to his house. His mom leaves the chair at the end of the neighbor's driveway on days when she works late, but last Tuesday the family discovered it had been taken. Chris says the chair is designed specifically for him.
