Why Nursery School WORKS for Puppies

Why Nursery School WORKS for Puppies

Early socialization is an essential component of any new pup's training.  It helps them become well-balanced, allows them to practice pro-social behavior and exposes them to countless sights, sounds, people, places and things.  Finding places and events where groups of pups can be together for play can be challenging, as can figuring out what to do with your new pup while you're at work.  Five years ago, I designed a business plan to meet JUST those needs for pups and their owners!  Here at Dances With Dogs, we specialize in providing a host of important learning opportunities just for puppies during their first few months with their new families.  Watch the accompanying video for a taste of a typical day for the pups in our playground.

Mustaches in May to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program

Mustaches in May to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program

An all star lineup of Sea Dogs players are growing Mustaches in May to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.  Dr. Lou Jacobs, a Portland Chiropractor, gained national recognition as the founder of Mystache Fights Cancer, a cancer fighting fund raising event for local organizations. He is also the director of the New England Bureau of the American Mustache Institute.  Dr. Jacobs says "The mustache revival in the state of Maine has never been stronger and there’s never been a better time to use your ‘stache for a good cause."   The doctor will be throwing the first pitch at the Sea Dogs game and showing his support for the players at 1pm on Sunday May 29, 2011 against rivals the Trenton Thunder (Yankees).

Sea Dog players are taking pledges and a $15.00 donation gets you a free ticket and a family donation of $50.00 gets you five tickets and a picture with your favorite player.
