The success of his first singleWho Dat? lead to a 2010 BET's Rising Icon award. Cole made himself notable through a scholarly approach to the game – no small feat considering his Magna Cum Laude distinction upon graduating from St. John’s University.
If his sudden christening by JAY-Z shocked the haters, their doubts were quickly refuted when J. Cole dropped his recent mixtape The Warm Up, as well as a coveted guest verse on JAY-Z’s Blueprint 3 with “A Star is Born”. Soulful and strong, J.

Help Good Shepherd Food-Bank “Stuff the Truck” Saturday at Maine Mall

WHAT: In response to the increase need for food this holiday season and coming winter, Good Shepherd Food-Bank is asking the public to help “Stuff the Truck” with food for the hungry on November 20 from 9 AM – 3 PM at the Maine Mall. The Food-Bank truck will be located in the parking lot at the corner of Gorham Road and Philbrook Avenue, adjacent to Hannaford supermarket.
Canned items such as vegetables, fruit, tuna, chicken, and soups are a few of the most needed items. Monetary donations are also greatly needed. For every $1 donated the Food-Bank can purchase and distribute $8 worth of food to the Greater Portland area and other communities throughout the state.

WHY: The Food-Bank’s partner agencies are reporting significant increases in need this year.
