8th Annual Cinemagic Blood Drive Set for August 2nd & 3rd

8th Annual Cinemagic Blood Drive Set for August 2nd & 3rd

The American Red Cross and Cinemagic Stadium Theaters invite eligible blood donors in the Westbrook area to help avoid blood shortages this summer.

The Cinemagic Stadium Theater on County Road, will host the 8th Annual Marathon Blood Drive from 10 AM through 10 PM on Friday, August 2nd and again on Saturday, August 3rd from 7 AM to 5 PM.

Summer months can be among the most challenging times of the year for blood and platelet donations as regular donors adjust to summer schedules.  However, the need is constant and each day, the Northern New England Region (Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont) of Red Cross needs to collect on average 700 units of blood to maintain a sufficient blood supply

Blood donations are used for surgeries, trauma victims, to support cancer treatment and for many other life-threatening conditions. It is estimated that every two seconds, someone in the United States will need a blood transfusion.
