Maine Connections Academy will open this September and is now enrolling students for the 2014-15 school year.

MCA Information Session in Scarborough

Monday, July 14, 6:30-8:00 p.m. EDT

Homewood Suites

200 Southborough Dr.

Scarborough, ME 04074

At the information sessions, families will have the opportunity to meet with a representative of the school, explore the program and curriculum, and learn more about the enrollment process. Families unable to attend an in-person session are invited to attend a real-time online session.  For a complete list of events, please visit the school’s website.

MCA will combine certified teachers, an award-winning curriculum, technology tools, engaging electives, and social experiences to create a supportive and successful online learning program for families and students who want an individualized approach to education. As a public charter school, there are no fees or tuition to attend the school and all students are required to take the same state assessments as traditional Maine students.

Learning from home, MCA students will work closely with certified teachers using detailed daily lesson plans that can be personalized to meet individual student needs. A parent, or another adult “Learning Coach,” will monitor progress in the home.

A virtual school serves a wide variety of students, including those who are significantly ahead or behind in the classroom, those who need a flexible schedule or learn at a different pace from their peers, and those who need more individualized attention or live in rural settings. Homebound and previously home-schooled students can also thrive in Maine Connections Academy.
