It all began in Gorham, Maine
Den Morton, from Gorham, Maine, knows all about cancer. “I still remember the phone call from my surgeon,” he shares. “It was election night in 2004, and he called to let me know the tumor on my neck contained atypical cells and it appeared I had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Local Business Celebrates 25 Years by Giving Back to the Community

Heidi’s House Child Care Center will be hosting a free Family Fun Day on Saturday July 13, 2013 at Scarborough Memorial Park from 9am-2pm to celebrate 25 years of quality early childhood education and raise funds for Team Kyle.  Team Kyle, named in honor of Kyle St. Clair, a young boy from Scarborough who died recently after a life long battle with illness, raises and donates funds in Kyle’s memory to support causes related to children, serious illness, and the Scarborough community.

“Community giving has been a cornerstone of the Heidi’s House philosophy from day one,” says owner Heidi McDonald. “We are excited to invite everyone to come out and have some fun while supporting an important cause.”

“It means a lot to our family to have the community give back in Kyle’s name.  Kyle lived by the philosophy ‘pay it forward’ and that’s just what this event will do,” says Kyle’s mom Kate St. Clair.
