Jump Rope For Heart – Maine’s Demo Team to Perform at Scarborough Schools

The American Heart Association’s (AHA) statewide demonstration team for the Jump Rope For Heart program will be visiting three Scarborough Schools tomorrow, February 16th. The South Bristol “Spindrifters” will perform their special skills for Scarborough students at three elementary schools.  Each year, the Spindrifters select a handful of schools to visit throughout Maine to show off their skills and engage other students with learning to jump rope to raise funds for the AHA.  Each show will last 30 minutes.

• Blue Point Elementary (174 Pine Point Road, Scarborough) – 9:30 AM
• Eight Corners Elementary (22 Mussey Road, Scarborough) – 10:30 AM
• Pleasant Hill Elementary (143 Highland Avenue, Scarborough)  – 1:00 PM

Also, this Friday (February 18th), Coastal Ridge Elementary in York will be holding their Jump Rope For Heart events.  This is an important year, as this school has now raised over $100,000 since participating in the program over the years. The school will also be hosting a Winter Fun Day with sledding, snow sculptures, and other activities to get kids active. Here is the schedule for Jump events for each grade.

Grade 4 - 9:15-10:15
Grade 2 -11:15-12:15
Grade 3 - 1:45-2:45

We hope you may be able to cover one or some of these events.  For more information about the AHA’s Jump Rope For Heart program, visit:  www.heart.org/jump.
