Community Counseling Center Launches New Website

A new tool for the agency to increase awareness
about the effects of bullying and cyber-bullying

Portland, Maine – Community Counseling Center has launched a new website:  The dramatically redesigned site was created by VONT, an internet marketing firm located in Westbrook, Maine.  The site embodies Community Counseling Center’s forward-thinking vision and commitment to the growing needs of its clients.  The website provides rich content, direct access to program managers and intake staff, and streamlined searching for appropriate finding programs and services.

“This website was designed so that clients and visitors could easily access the information they needed about our services and programs,” said Erin Smith, Community Relations and Grant Manager. “The new is easier to navigate, reflects the diverse programs we offer, and provides us with increased flexibility for future growth.”

Some features of the new website include:
•   Bold new colors that represent Community Counseling Center’s partnership with Maine Mental Health Partners and MaineHealth
•   A clean, uncluttered design with moving images and featured content
•   Foreign language landing pages that offer translations in the top five languages spoken by Agency clients
•   Videos offering information about services for those who are Deaf or hard of hearing
•   A sophisticated search tool that allows visitors to input their needs and be connected to services and programs that are right for them
•   A secure online giving portal that will provide visitors the ability to make tax-deductible donations, as well a register for upcoming events

The development of the new website began in 2009 when Community Counseling Center received funding through Project Safe and Strong, a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention through the Department of Justice.  Designed in part to increase community awareness about the effects of bullying and cyber-bullying, the new site provides resources for parents and children, and will also help funnel search engine requests for help with bullying to the agency.  “We are thrilled with our new site and are looking forward to using it as another communication tool in reaching out to those who need help,” said Smith.

With roots dating back to 1874, Community Counseling Center is one of Maine's oldest and most comprehensive private, nonprofit family service agencies, making a difference in thousands of lives each year though prevention, education, treatment and wellness programs.  Today, Community Counseling Center has over 100 staff dedicated to meet the mental health needs of children, adults, elders and families in the community. Community Counseling Center is a member of Maine Mental Health Partners and MaineHealth.
