Third Annual Eco Options Christmas Light trade In

WHAT: The third annual Eco Options Christmas Light Trade In event allows consumers to bring in their old, non-working Christmas light strings to be recycled and receive a $3 off coupon towards the purchase of energy efficient seasonal light-emitting diodes (LED) string lights.  Customers must purchase their new LED lights between November 4 and November 14 and are limited to five redemptions.

LED lights are shown to use 80 percent less electricity than standard mini lights and last up to 10 times longer.  This holiday season, The Home Depot will carry traditional white and multi-colored ENERGY STARĀ® qualified LED lights that offer superior connectivity-allowing consumers to link up to 87 strands (or one-quarter mile) of lights without fear of overloading a circuit.  There are even more great choices in LED holiday lights with the introduction of Martha Stewart Living and EcoSmart LED light strands, both available exclusively at The Home Depot.

WHEN: November 4-14, 2010

WHERE: All The Home Depot locations

ADMISSION: Free of charge

WHY: Consumers bring in old, non working Christmas lights for recycling and receive a $3 off coupon towards new LED string lights.
